A question that motivates me is:

If we know better, will we do better?

I hope, one day, to be part of a culture of photographers who have found a meaningful way to documented truthful moments in the history of this country; of this planet. I photograph what I see in these often beautiful, sometimes bleak, mountains, hills and valleys with the hope that these images will speak to you in some way and perhaps be a record of what we once had. I grieve for what we have done to this planet, for the innumerable tragedies happening now and for what is soon to come.

On a different not and with regards to my sports photography; that was a pure, “I’m a fan, what if,” side quest that immediately became a passion project. Going from not knowing how or who to contact or even if it was possible to get credentials to photograph a professional women’s soccer match, to receiving that first approval was an exercise in research and curiosity sprinkled with a little bit of luck. Truth be told, there need to be more women photographing women’s sports and I will be the first to step aside to make way. On the humble, If you need help navigating the credentialing system, reach out, I’m happy to help. As we say, and something I am reminded of so often in those DM’s: “soccer is life,” and sometimes we all need a little guidance.

It takes a lot of people to bring a team up and for all the reasons below, I’m happy I was able play to a small part in that with Boston Legacy FC in 2026. I never in a million years thought I’d be doing what I’m doing and I appreciate every approval, every invite, every moment I am able to help push the women’s game.

My primary goal and the sole reason I document the NWSL, and will only photograph athletes in women’s sports, is to document women existing in greatness within a rigged system that is designed to stifle their achievements in every way. When young people, girls and boys alike, can see women in places historically… monolithically, reserved for and occupied by men, humanity might stand a chance. The athletes represent an idea that is far greater than themselves. All the problems we face as a species and the destruction we’ve wrought on the earth lead back to patriarchy… men, (sorry not sorry,) and that needs to change.

The sooner a generation sees no oddity or argument with women leading the way, the better.

Michelle Kang said in a recent BBC interview, “The gap between girls’ and boys’ journeys is indefensible and I want that to disappear.” My thoughts exactly.
