VChiu
VChiu lives in New England and mostly uses an old Nikon DSLR and a vintage 55mm Nikkor Micro lens from 1988 as he putters about in the hills. Here you will find photos taken by various camera systems from an old iphone to a Fujifilm X100V and Sony a7R series, but there’s nothing like the whir of that old 55mm glass no matter how un-trendy Nikon is these days. Diggin in the crates has unearthed a Mamiya medium format as well as a Nikon f4. Film? we’ll see how the next few months go…
In a former life V was a certified professional animal behavior consultant. His practice revolved around behavior science, learning theory, kindness, respect for the individual and helping humans and non-human animals not simply coexist but thrive together. He has been driven by a desire to give a voice to the voiceless.
V is currently working on several photographic projects in various genres as he nothing if not curious. Among his photography related goals for 2026 are 1) ethically photographing Vermont fauna and barred owlets in their natural habitat, 2) developing an ongoing body of work focusing on anthropogenic climate destruction and the impending death of all sentient life on earth and 3) Taking steps to, ethically, further engage in conflict photography, 4) Beginning a body of work focused on powerful women in sports, specifically the NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League,) and the sacrifices involved in competing in, arguably, the world’s most physically demanding soccer league. (see below)

What an accomplishment, really… bravo. Meanwhile, rich men are still blah blah blahing about profitability, Mars, minerals, plastic, deregulation, clean coal, war and milking every last blood soaked penny out of the earth. We need to flip the paradigm. No, sadly, soccer won’t save us but girls who play sports and grow into empowered educated women unafraid to think, learn, work together, build strength, speak their truths, shoot their shot and compete to the bitter end just might…
